 | What is Heelan's Flying Circus? |
We are an informal group of PPL holders based at Andrewsfield.
| What do we do? |
Once a month, or so, we spend a lot of time drinking coffee and
eating bacon sandwiches at Andrewsfield whilst chatting about this and
that. This is interspersed by regular checks on visibility and cloud
ceiling and attempts to maintain our optimism that the weather will
improve.
| What do we want to do? |
Fly! We aim to broaden our horizons, stretch our wings, and other
puns, by visiting airfields we have not been to before, thus developing
our navigation skills and promoting a spirit of adventure.
| What do we do when we get there? |
Drink coffee, eat bacon sandwiches and fly home again.
| Why Heelan's Flying Circus? |
Ah yes why indeed! In honour of Jim Heelan, our one time friend,
mentor and inspiration. Without Jim we would still be buzzing round the
Essex reservoirs.
