Originally billed as a joint 4-day
venture with the North Weald Flying Group, to the north of Spain,
unfortunately dates changed, which didn't work for the majority of the HFC
team. So, we decided to do some day trips to use up the booked holiday. More
write-ups will follow covering other trips made that week.

Lyme Regis. Beer! Nuff said....
So day one, Monday, most had gone back to work (sad) leaving the hardcore
element from the HFC...............in fact it was reduced to one aircraft
Charley Charley and three intrepid aviators - Charles Charles, Hedge
Clippers Mate and the Hopmeister.

Avon Dam. Leftlake Quarry.
It was agreed that Lands End was as good a plan as any, I'm afraid it
will not be a long drawn out write-up as, whilst is was a long flight - 2hrs
40 minutes down, 3hrs 5 minutes return - it was uncharacteristically
uneventful for a HFC trip. I think you will agree when you peruse the
snapshots, expertly taken by the Hopmeister which is more a reflection of
the equipment than photographic expertise, the flight was punctuated by some
of the best scenery to be found in the UK!

Lee Moor. Tamar Bridges.
Outward journey was Hedge Clippers Mate as P1, Charles Charles riding
shotgun and Hopmeister as reconissaince. It started fairly hazy as we left
the Weald. However this did improve as we made our way down our southerly
route, following the photo's (well done Rob for identifying all the
landmarks), of particular note was the little village of Beer, who's
population boasted one of the original Dambusters. Sorry just a little
editorial license and trying to pad it out, as it was a wonderful flight but
with the exception of the crew trying to work out where l'hse was for
reporting purposes (yes, I know it's actually means Lighthouse.....SSshhhh!)
it was straight forward and extremely enjoyable. We arrived at our
destination, a very friendly but quiet and remote (yeah should have worked
that one out from the name!!), sandwiches and teas all round. The odd
commercial came in providing a taxi service out to St Mary's and back.

l'hse. Land's End International.

Hayle Estuary. Padstow.
Return leg saw Charles Charles take the helm, Hedge Clippers Mate grab
the remote for the TV screens and Hopmeister continue to fill the SD Card
from the rear seats. The return flight took the more westerly route,
scenery did not deteriorate and again with one exception - a very large
Military whirly bird broad siding us just east of Bridgewater Bay - we made
our way home without event. A fantastic days flying, with good company and
great bladder control!

Caen Hill... hard work. On white horses ....
Thanks team, here's to the next HFC adventure!
Featuring:
